ABOUT YOUR PHYSICIAN
Meet Dr. Meghan Monthie
Meghan (Yi) Monthie, M.D. (pronounced “mon-tie,” but she also responds to Dr. Meg or Dr. Meghan 🙂) is a Maryland native who has lived in the Capital District of Upstate New York her entire adult life.

Dr. Monthie enjoys caring for growing and multi-generational families, including her newborn patients, their school aged siblings, their working parents, and their medically complex grandparents (and sometimes even their great grandparents!) at Saratoga Hospital Medical Group Primary Care - Scotia-Glenville located in Ballston Lake, New York.

Dr. Monthie believes that excellent primary care is the cornerstone of and solution to our frustratingly fragmented and confusing healthcare system.

From addressing routine, day-to-day concerns to walking alongside patients facing life-changing diagnoses,
Dr. Monthie considers it a privilege and a joy to be an advocate and support for her patients and their families.

She loves celebrating with her patients in their successes as well as offering compassion, a listening ear, a hand to hold, and a safe space through their most challenging and vulnerable moments.

When she is not doctoring, Dr. Monthie can be found running, road biking, hiking and skiing in the Adirondacks, OrangeTheory-ing, and traveling with and chasing after her husband (Phil, a Capital District native and attorney/financial planner), son (Miles),
and Havanese poodle (Daisy).
She is also a proud Swiftie. 😎
In a world where patients are rushed through appointments, treated as the number on the back of their insurance card, and given the opportunity to ask only one question of their physician, you can stand out boldly by doing one thing - and that is caring.

Our Core Values
Patient First
It's all about you!
Dr. Monthie's recommendations focus on her patients' best interests. She meets her patients where they are to create a personalized plan for success, no matter the concern.
Empowerment
Lifestyle plays a tremendous role in your overall health and wellness.
Patients should feel empowered to care for themselves with regular exercise, a healthy diet, stress management, good sleep hygiene, and maintaining strong relationships with loved ones.
Evidence-Based Care
There is a lot of confusing and conflicting health information out there!
Dr. Monthie helps her patients sort through the noise by following and making treatment plans based on the most up to date research and guidelines.
Quality, Not Quantity
In modern medicine, there is a tendency to equate the quantity of tests ordered to quality of care.
Dr. Monthie is judicious and thoughtful about the tests she orders and interventions she recommends to save her patients money and their precious time.
Collaboration
You're the expert of your body; Dr. Monthie is an expert in primary care.
Together, we meld both of our expertises to create a personalized care plan that makes the most sense for you.
Education
Knowledge is power!
Taking the time to explain illnesses and disease processes, Dr. Monthie loves answering her patients' questions as they take ownership of their health. The teaching goes both ways - she is constantly learning from her patients, too!
